I think the point is that it's not really strictly a kids movie like the original.

what fucks me off most about this whole debarcle is that people are gonna come out of the film thinking

"fuck that was shit....wasnt even anything like the original"

please...if anyone hears someone say that .... hit the mofos up! and tell them it isnt a remake but an individual impression of the novel!!!

after uve said that....hit them alittle more....

They are adding in new scenes from the book like the nut room and they actually taught squirrels to crack nuts open, drop them down a hole and throw the shells over their shoulders. The boy playing charlie is the boy who played peter in finding neverland (i think). they used just one guy to play all the oompa loompas.

im a little nervous about the new movie

i am a HUGE fan of the first movie, LOVE the book, but this one looks a little... weird. Still, I must see it to fully comment.

When is it out?

johnny depp looks very androgynous as willy wonka

but i still think it will be a funny movie none the less, but with a darker undertone... :D

has anyone seen the trailer for the other tim burton movie? the corpse bride or something?? it looks quite funny too...

but if not i will still like the classic and the book.
who is playing the oompa lompa's?
Some guy called Deep Roy is playing oompa lompa...dunno if they're just gonna computer replicate him to save money...but he looks like a geniune oompa lompa

Apparently the movie is gonna release in sept...which is a while away...

I've seen the cardboard ad up for so long...it's strange though...cause the ad gives me a feeling that it's not gonna be a movie aimed directly at kids...although do kids still read the book?? I love it personally..

imo depp suits the role of willy wonka. good choice (altho tim burton has depp in alot of his movies (edward scissorhands, sleepyhollow, edwood, and an upcomimng one called 'corpse bride'))
