there hasn't been an amendment repealed since 1933 lol and you need two thirds of congree to approve it

vastly less acheivable than a referendum

saliva is right gun rights are never getting banned. i was under the impression they were a democracy but ive been conned by american propaganda

that doesn't mean they shouldn't make a fuss about it and just submit to kids getting shot in the face everyday

there's nothing to be done. Any possible legislation would be too weak to do anything or take literally decades to have an effect

There's over 400 million civilian owned guns in the US. Any restrictions on gun ownership aren't going to be like australia where everyone just hands their guns in

Many people illegally own guns now and will continue doing so, and most of the legal gun owners will keep their guns or sell them privately. So the total in circulation will still be massive.

Unfortunately, this is very true hence why I wouldnt support gun control in the US. Whilst I support gun control as a concept, you have to be pragmatic and in the US there are just too many guns for gun control to ever be effective (not to mention the legal and cultural components). I do think though that if both sides can agree to invest more in early intervention and vastly improved mental health resources this might help reduce gun crime as a first step.
