Yeah... they're re-making The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.... but all I can see is those video adaptations that they made. I loved the costumes - they were great. :D

Myeah... I thought the centaurs looked pretty damn nifty too.

It's been a while since I read the series.

is the video thing, the one that they used to show on abc in the afternoon? if so, fantastic series. I always cried when the witches killed Aslan.

chronicles of narnia were so cool

the crappest character was lucy, methinks
edmund had personality. and peter was a bit righteous
susan was a frigid bitch

from memory anyway.i haven't read them since i was 7 :p

my favourite was voyage of the dawntreader i think
it had a mouse with a sword in it. and they went to weirdass islands

i never saw the dodgy live action tv series things but lordy it looks poor :p

Wooo Narnia is my favourite series!!! Ok, so the whole preachy Jesus/God/creation undertone is kind of annoying, especially in the Last Battle, but I love the rest of them! I think my favourite right now is The Horse and His Boy. I can't help it, they're so English and full of nice scenes about food. I think that's why I like The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe so much- because of the bit where Mr Tumnus and Lucy have all of the cake and boiled eggs and toast... *drool*
I borrowed out the video version of 'The Lion...' a few years ago and it really annoyed me. The puppet lion I could handle, but Lucy was a toothy tub of lard who kept plopping around going 'Oh AS-lan!' in the most inane voice... it drove me crazy. Can't wait for the new version though. Should be great. :D

Seven months isn't what I'd call 'soon', but The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe is something to look forward to I guess. I think the potential for failure is monumental though. Movies with a gaggle of kids as playing the main characters just have a tendency to flop ala Harry Potter.

I'm a little worried too. C S Lewis is not something to mess with. And these Hollywood book adaptions usually suck balls, ie Cold Mountain. Though 'Series of unfortuante events' kicked the books butt.

Anyone know who is producing the Lion the witch and the wardrobe?

walt disney is producing "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe" (full title ><) with walden media. when i first hear/saw the words "walt disney" i nearly cried. narnia was wat got me into reading when i was little and i am very sentimental about these books. i hate disney with a passion because they have an awful tendency to completely trample over their adaptations like hercules *weeps* and mulan. but then i saw the trailer and it looked fantastic! ^^ bit lotr style (well weta is involved ^^) but now i'm looking forward to the movie at least lol.

btw i hated the old movie/series. the acting was crap, the animals were crap and the only good thing was they stuck with the story. hey just realised - since the narnia books arent as long as say, the harry potter books, the movies will prolly be much closer to the books ^^
