How many are there?

The pamphlets usually gloss over them. Are they seedy? (which ones?)

What are all the things you can join? (is there a register or website..?)

Can you start your own, even with 1 member? =)

Some of the ones i've heard of seem fun, but I don't know if they're under some sort of dictatorship or selective of members, etc

I'm not a UNSW student, but from my experience with USyd clubs:
- You need 20 members to start one.
- Just about anyone can join.
