Cockatoo Island - Easter Long Weekend 2005 (1 Viewer)

Anybody here going to this festival? I'm trying to get my tight arse, introvert friends to come along with me to camp for the three days. It's at Cockatoo island off Darling Harbour...and it goes from the 25th to the 27th. It's going to be great. It's $170 for 15-17 yr olds to camp the three days.

The line-up (from memory) is: Gomez (oh yes!), New Buffalo, Eskimo Joe, Machine Gun Fellatio, Louisville Sluggers, Art of Fighting, Hilltop Hoods and Pete Murray...there are heaps more, but I can't remember them.

It looks like it's gonna be an awesome music festival, and one which will stick around for a while...to me it seems the safest since it's on an island and extremely well patrolled. Hopefully more and more great acts can be drawn to it next year.

i reckon for that line up $170 is a rip off.

falls was $100 with what was in my opinion a better line up, for 2 nights.

and for an extra $15 you could camp a day early and watch movies on a big screen, hundreds of illegal fireworks displays and get pissed off your nut with heaps of cool strangers.

I'll be going on the Friday... $68 or so including Ticketek's booking fee, and it seemed like a good way to use one of my ticketek vouchers. I don't know who will be playing on the Friday, but that isn't a problem as I don't even know who will be performing at the festival in general. Anyway, it should be fun (heritage considerations aside).

The website has all the line-ups for each day if you're looking for them...I think Eskimo Joe are on Friday...MGF are on Sat and Gomez are on Sudnay.

If you're 18 I think it's about $210. But you shouldn't be complaining...you actually get to buy your own drinks...I have to crawl around the floor sucking the grass where alcohol was spilt.

Cockatoo Island is full of scrapped asbestos, my friends grandpa died coz he worked there and was unsure when he was exposed.

i dont have $210 to chuck away go camping to see bands that i have already seen before.
i can camp for free in my backyard and put on their cds really loud and invite friends and randoms over and start a moshpit in my tent.

swags are always sufficient - especially if you have someone to keep you company! - must not have a very good swag if you think u need a tarp aswell

yeah it's not water proof. well i don't think. i'm just basing this on the fact that when i lie under it in the day time i can see little tiny holes with light coming through them...so i figure water can come through them too. nevere been in it while it's raining....not game to try.

Cocteau Twins, Bauhaus, Gang Of Four & Wolf Eyes!!!- the rest seems pretty boring. LOL @ BLOOD BROTHERS & JAMIE CULLUM & KATIE MELUA & BUCK 65 & DRESDEN DOLLS. and also LOL at m83's latest album.

mf doom, sage, jean grae, k-os, roots manuva & zion i are all pretty awesome, but i don't think hip hop in a festival environment is very good.
