I wanna do COMP123, but i've got a slight problem, i got a band5 in IPT. There was no way i should have got a band5, i was gettin 60s for my assessments, but i somehow got scaled in to the 80s. So basically i know the IPT content pretty vaguely, and i've already forgotten most of it neway.

My interest in computing only extends to using applications, eg Word, Excel, etc. & not programming and other stuff like that.

Neway my Q is, will the uni have access to my HSC results, therefore stopping me from enrolling in COMP123, and if so can i then enrol in the unit later on, say 2nd or 3rd yr?

Thanx
:)

You won't be able to do COMP123. Simple as that, if you got 80 chances are you already know how to use Word, Excel etc.
Yes they do have your HSC results. Why don't you do COMP114 instead?

Because perhaps more and more commerce type jobs require some basic IT skills?

That's crap then. I can use Word, i was just using that as an example, its more Excel i'm worried about cos i'm looking to go in2 a business-type job where i'll have to most likely know how to use it.

I think they taught us either late yr 11 or early yr 12 in IPT, but i forgot how to use it now, since i don't regularly use it.

What's COMP114 like then?

comp123 sounds like it teaches you the basic of computing, eg word.

but comp114 (intro to info sys) looks must more relavent because of how computers are organised in a systematic environment in a business.

theres no prereqs for 123

its nccw with a bunch of (high school) stuff that i cbf'd typing out, nccw means that if you do the subject, any of the things in the nccw column wont go towards your credit point count for you degree. it basically means that the subjects are more or less similar
