What the question is saying is.

The angle from (0,0) to a point is the same as the angle from (1,1) to a point. Now obviously that means that the gradient of the lines needs to be the same, and hence it is the region of the line y=x where x<0 or x>1

two roots are conjugate pairs, and third root is found by 1+i + 1 -i + alpha =0

so alpha=-2

then i use product of roots to find p and i get p= -4

:(

p is the sum of the roots 2 at a time; for product of roots, you're finding the value of q

Since 1-i is a root of the polynomial, sub that into the equation. Expand it then equate real and imaginary parts. It should be p=-2 and q=4.
