1, w, w2 are the three cube roots of unity. STate the values of w3 and 1+w+w2. Hence simplify each of the expressions (1+3w+w2)2 and (1+w+3w2)2 and show that their sum is -4 and their product is 16.

okay now if its a cube root of unity then its w3 = 1 and all the roots are 1, cis (2pi/3) and cis (-2pi/3) right? so the 1+w+w2 can equal 0 or 3 and w3 equals 1.
Now how do i use this to do the other half of the question?
