Any tips regarding component b and open book assessments? i got 50% for the last one and we have another coming up, that i would prefer to not do so sucky in.

think outside the square I guess, if it's open book, chances are all those formulas that are given are only going to result in harder questions. From my experience we had a 1 question open book test that no body passed...

that's so harsh, open book MATHS test...

umm right down all the necessary question, and the harder questions in each topic with methods written out clearly.
