Is this spam (above quote) or is it not spam (thread title)? If it's not, let's get the conversation going!

whats wrong with me :(
Nothing's wrong with you.
I think nearly all non-Japanese people who watch the anime 'Initial D' don't understand the music (apart from the short bursts of english), but still like it.

initial D is like boring car stuff which i spent a whole holiday reading
there's also a movie and stuff

and ahah yeh you can't exactly channel something that was non-existant unless it's just an excuse to bring it in from elsewhere.

No Opal. In Latin, every thread is a spam thread. In Japanese we have dignity. ;)

So Toodulu, you say it's boring car stuff? Why is it being recommended then? Let's watch nutty psychophylosophical drama like Evangelion! :D

A series about a boy called Fujiwara Takumi who races others through mountain passes in his father's trusty old Toyota using the driving technique of 'drift' (Initial Drift) at night. The music in the series is great!
It's become somewhat 'big' in Aus and moreso the US because the Japanese cars featured in the series are available (and affordable) through import here and in the US now. Some people I've seen in Sydney even put the stickers from the racing teams in the series on their cars!
Stage 1 & 2 are the Initial D series that were on TV, and Stage 3 is the movie (if you are going to d/l them/buy them, don't get the American version, it's meant to suck and has rock music instead of the catchy Initial D tunes).

Reading what? I wasn't aware there was any reading involved.. it's popular because of the stages/series, not the comics you may have read (a comic version of the show sounds pretty boring! You must have patience).

Often it does. But sometimes there just isn't a manga at all. And in other cases (like for mecha) manga just fail, because one of the core attractions of the anime was...well, animation. :p

Damnit I don't know if my anime club is worth joining. The list they gave doesn't seem to be very interesting viewing, and there are better clubs (like the Red Cross Society) to join...
