Hi,
I'm planning to pursue PhD in the US and I'm currently undertaking Master of IT at CSE. It seems that a GPA of 3.8 is the average GPA for the students who have been offered admission to quite a few Universities in the US e.g. University of Washington.
My undergrad WAM was 76, so I was wondering what the equivalent GPA of the US standard (out of 4) is? If I use the plain simple way, it is just 0.76*4 = 3.04. As far as I know, using a 7 point scale, a 76 should be 6/7; but 6/7 = 86%. I think Macquarie uses a 4 point scale as well, is it the same as the US standard? How to convert WAM to the GPA used in the US?
Cheers,
Michael
