I’m looking at my options and wanted to know wether or not it’s a good idea to do bachelor of commerce and Macquarie University and transfer later on into bachelor of commerce with engineering?

It would depend on what your goals are and what your situation is? It's kinda like asking if it's a good idea to get chocolate ice cream tomorrow if you got vanilla ice cream today (the answer, of course, is a resounding and unequivocal yes, because nobody in their right mind would pick vanilla over chocolate).

Considering that they both have a guaranteed entry level of 80 I would say that you should go with the double degree, and if its not for you then you can always change later on to a Bachelor of Commerce.
