Ah, if you haven't heard an irish company called 'Steorn' have claimed to have created energy and have produced up to 400% more energy by using magnetic fields.

It's pretty big claims as you know it will defy one of the most fundamental laws of physics.

My math teacher always asks me about it and whether there has been developments everytime I see him.

Still it's very interesting even if you don't think it's true and it's just a stunt. However, I had read somewhere that they aren't taking on investors and yeah.

The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed into another form ... The statement regarding creating free energy is simply biased, it's probably because they have unleashed very high efficencies by converting most or even all of the magnetic force into energy ...

But what form is the energy in ? It's not much use if it isn't recovered in a useable form.

Efficency in a nutshell - Less than 50% of sun energy is converted to electricity in a solar cell, otherwise we can have enough power for the disco lights all night ...

Even a minute fraction of the sun's energy is sufficient. However we still have problems in capturing that energy...you can't cover the earth in solar panels.

They aren't releasing much info about it because of the intellectual property issue.

However, just say a person travelled around the magnetic field, you will constantly loose mass. What happens when you get down to .1 mass or something? What happens to your body? Haha

They go on to further say

"The energy isn't being converted from any other source such as the energy within the magnet. It's literally created. Once the technology operates it provides a constant stream of clean energy."

I guess we have to wait for the verdict.
