how does the cross-sectional area of a conductor affect the current that passes through it?

does it affect anything else other than the current?

Thanks

the greater the cross-sectional area the more current that can flow through the lattice without being impeded.
the likelihood of electrons colliding with impurities within the wire is reduced

so if you double the cross-sectional area , u double the current?

Double cross sectional area, u half the resistance.

If u keep the voltage constant, since V = IR

let R = 1

V = I

Let r = 1/2

V=I/2

I = 2V

So effectively u double the current if voltage is constant.
