What was the answer to the MC on decentralised wage determination system. Options were like:

minimum wage and x
enterprise agreements and y
individual wage agreements and z (or this may have been joint with one of the above options)
no government intervention in dispute resolutions and w ( ' ' ' ' ' )

Nominal x (100/CPI) = _______
So 840 x (100/105) = 800
Isn't it (CPI year 2 - CPI year 1 )/ CPI year 1= 0.05
Real GDP takes inflation rate of 5% into account, 5% of 840 = 42
therefore Real GDP = 798?

Mate you were working out the inflation rate. The formula is CP1 Year 1 / CPI Year 2 (100 / 105) x Real GDP
Therefore 840 x 100/105 = 800.

how much time do you guys spend in essays talking about current economic events/ non theory stuff? I.e. examples that aren't necessarily tied directly to the syllabus

There was a multiple choice question that asked what statement best explained the difference between monetary and fiscal policy. One option was about how monetary policy has flow on effects whereas fiscal policy can be targeted at specific parts of the economy. The other option said that the RBA conducts monetary whereas the COAG (Council of Australian Governments) conducts fiscal. I chose the first one due to not being sure whether the COAG had anything to do with fiscal.. What was the answer?

Wasn't it to find Real GDP
I did CPI (current year) / CPI (Present year) then I multiplied that by nominal GDP
