Hey...

Does Anyone knwo hwo to solve this equation for population growth?

e.g. 4.4e^0.011t = 3e^0.022t find "t"

I have not the slighest idea, but just thought I'd comment. I thought DEM was supposed to be a better alternative to Stat; this looks much more complicated than anything in stat!

try take logs of both sides and solve from there

this is just for population growth Pt = Poe^rt....but i think dem would be easier...its just this type of question whic i cannot solve, and im pretty sure it will be in the test tomorrow...so if anyone can please solve this type of question it will be much appriciated.

i know its probably useless to you now, but try this:

let x=0.011t

4.4e^x = 3e^2x
4.4=3e^2x/e^x
3e^x=4.4
x= ln (4.4/3)
but x=0.011t
so t = ln(4.4/3)/0.011

hope that made sence...
theres probably an easier way to do it.. without using substitution but thats just how i do it.
