My tutor group tutor said that it's perfectly normal that you will fall during trial time, because you're learning new stuff right up until the first exam, there are a heap of majorworks, trial and HSC speaking exams before and after, performance exams and what have you still going on while you're preparing for trials, and you only get a maximum of about five weeks' study (three weeks of July hols, and first two weeks back). He said it'd be surprising if you stayed at your current level (meaning normal assessment marks), and possibly the biggest fluke ever if you actually went up!

Did anyone get this rare opportunity of staying at the same level, or going up?

they purposely pack the trials closer and make them harder, because once HSC starts youve learnt everything, you know your weakpoints, its more spread out
for example, i had english on monday and again wednesday, then maths thursday chemistry friday

in the hsc i got english monday thursday then the next week mon, then next week wednesday i got chem

My level went up for legal studies. Only because it was an easy exam though. I maintained it for business. I went down for PDHPE a bit, only because i missed a whole 6 mark essay lol and did another 6 mark one in a rush. For ancient, it went down a bit. For english it went down a bit. But only coz i stuffed up 1 section of the module paper kind of on purpose. Dont ask why, long story lol.

The main reason my marks didn't go down too much was not coz i studied heaps or anything, but i miraculously predicted the right q's for practically all my exams and studied for them!

Maths has never really been my strongpoint...and I certainly went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay down in the trials...Ive seen the mark...Ive never done so bad in anything in my life...I knew that they had defiantly made the maths exam harder, but sheesh, I didnt expect what I got...
In other exams (Im yet to do Geo), I dunno, Science seemed ok and I feel as though it was a fair test, as far as English goes I didnt write anywhere near enough...I knew everything just didnt get it down so I think Ive gone down in that exam.

Ive done all my trials! THANK GOD finished this morning with chem. I dont know any of my results yet, but i can safely say, without a doubt, i went worse than ever, in every single one, most definately maths, coz my teacher told me.

It's weird - my averages stayed exactly the same, and some have gone up (so far). But I tend to gain momentum towards the end, so that's normal for me I guess.
