Difference between galvanic and electrolytic cell? (1 Viewer)

Im not sure if Im the only one who finds this confusing? could someone please check if this is right?

Galvanic cell: anode -ve
cathode +ve
more active substance oxidised at anode
less active substance reduced at cathode
+ cations --> cathode
-ve anions --> anode
Electrolytic: not spontaneous
anode +ve
cathode -ve
substance with -ve valency oxidised at the +ve anode
substance with +ve valency reduced at the -ve cathode
+ve cations--> cathode
-ve anions-->

Galavanic is the battery and electrolytic is he generator think of it as the opposite. It is the one RECHARGING the battery. Thus, the reactions are reversed.

I don't recall needing to know about electrolytic cells in Production of Materials. Which dotpoint does this fall under?

I'd be very careful and not say that.
Water can both be oxidised and reduced in an electrolytic cell.
Yet, it doesn't have a +/- "valency." It's just a dipole.
So you must mention molecules as well.

I wouldn't say "valency" too... It's dodgy.
Charge would be better.
