i always thought first year nursing was structured and that you didnt pick subjects? arent you pretty much told, or automatically enrolled into the subjects you have to do?

u can only pick ur times. i think you start selecting your own subjects (like everyones will be different depending on what they want to specialise in) in third year

The orange classes are the ones that are auto-allocated...ie. the ones u must go to and cant change. yes thats how u check ur timetable, but the full one wont be up for another week or so, until they process all the people and class times etc. my timetable would look just like urs at the moment too, with just those orange classes on it!

Ummm u prob dont need to get the marieb textbook which they say u should have at home for patho as like an extra text, never really touch that, but do get the other patho text that they will tell u in class (incase it has changed i won't give u the name) as that is the main one, u can get away with using an anatomy book from the library.

Ummm the books if they are the same as last yr are a 4 pack which is like the essential ones. If you go to the coop bookshop website and go to their textlist search link, all the unis booklists are there. There is a link for kuringai UTS and if u click on it u can go down the list and find a subject name called bachelor of nursing 3 yr program and it gives u this list of books:

Title: Fundamantals Of Nursing+medical Surgical Nursing+harvards Gde To Drugs+mosby's Dictionary Of Medicinenursing & Health

These are the same as mine, and they are used all the way through, ull see they are very bulky books lol To confirm that this is the right pack go to the Broadway booklist and they have the AN: cardio subject listed which has these books under it.

Again if you go back to the main subject list a bit further down there is a subject called discipline of nursing/law component. This is like an online part of that subject that you do and there is also a book for that Title: Nursing And The Law, which is the same to what we used. It was a kinda pointless book at time however the answer to many questions were made easy to find by having it but again if u dont want to spend money try borrowing it from the lib... Oh and u dont need this book a bit into the semester i think:S

There is also a book in 2nd semester but dw bout that for now :)

Hope this helps :) Dont stress too much about books as the nursing labs should have texts and they are pretty accepting that you don't have the texts the first-2nd week
