does 0.5 get rounded up (1 Viewer)

hey so today i received my assessment back and i got 17.5 ...does this get rounded up to 18 of stay as 17.5 when they are placing our ranks in? I'd be sooooo devo if it stayed 17.5

Your school probably shouldn't be giving half marks because HSC doesn't but a few schools still do. This would all depend on this individual policy of your school but I'd guess that it stays at 17.5- that would defs be the fairest thing- you should only ever round at the end- sorry

really :( can i just say that in prelim for a Different subject the teacher rounded it up...so would that mean the policy at my school be uniform throughout all facilities even in HSC

my teacher told me " the marking book dosent take .5's so it rounds up

wish ours got rounded up, in our biology i got 28/30 and he kept it as 93.33%

my school rounds down, btw they round down in the HSC anyway

Schools can determine their own policy on rounding in assessment tasks.

With the HSC where questions are double marked, from my experience, they keep the .5 until the very end when the final mark is determined and then round according so a .5 will go up but a .4 will go down.
