anyone who gets a mark over 45 gets automatically preselected

no your wrong.... its not 45.. there are many factors that comtribute to the selection of art express. such as, whether or not your artwork suits the particular theme of the year, for eg. if their is a good reoccuring theme throughout the 2004 candidates then those artworks will be put together for the gallery and so on... catch my drift??? so for those who did not get into art express, it doesnt mean you didnt get top marks. like i was marked at school 45 but... my work is very provocative, and if put in a gallery space it would probably look like porn.( not that bad but this is an example). and my other friend was marked full marks, 50/50 from the teacher, but her work is ALL about herself, its your face everywhere,,, so it would be hard to put her work into art express. see what i mean.

there is a girl in my class who DOES NOT DESERVE to get nominated.. and was highly the unexpected candidate to get into art express from our class... (which i think is unfair since her best friend gave her the idea... she cired and complained all year... the teacher helped her alot and the computer did the rest of the work)

however... the marking criteria is different every year... either way, as long as you know you did all you can that is all that matters... good luck.

every mark that gets over 45 gets nominated, they then take it to get marked by the people from the libary, agnsw etc which then decide which ones to pick from their marking criteria... I find it funny that you say 'The computer did all the work', what is the difference between computer generated art and normal art? even if she had no skill with photoshop or something but put some photo's together in an interesting way requiring little skill... what's different to that and people who manually do that?

'Your paintbrush, paints did all the work..'
