...photocopy my textbooks and selected readings instead of buying them.

I figure its 10c/pg. And if i decrease the size i cn fit 2 pages onto 1 page.

Therefore a book of 300 pages will cost $15.00 approx.

Does anyone else do this and would i come across any problems if i did it?

I might do that for some of my textbooks. Saves money. :)

It is fairly expensive. I don't really have money coming out of my arse.

I just realised exactly how much money these textbooks will cost me and due to poor finances, I'm looking at photocopies as well. I just don't have $500.

ditto...besides...carrying phocopied pages around for the next 1.5-2 yrs is not a very pleasing idea.

My books are only gonna cost 250ish in total, so I'm not gonna bother.

actually, photocopied pages are better in a way. you can underline then, highlight, etc, pull the pages out. whatever else you want. it makes summarising easier

i just looked up my textbooks and one of them is 800 pgs and the other is 1200pgs
i think im just going to go to the lecs and see which parts i need and then photocopy them as opposed to photocopying the whole book :)

Readers are usually much better than textbooks cos they cost less and have no trimmings on them - just the stuff that needs to be said.

I suppose you could go the middle road and buy the readers then photocopy the relevant sections from the library copy of the set textbook. That way you have the best of both worlds and spend a little money but not a huge amount at the same time.

I can probably get most texts from people last year, so I won't bother with any photocopying.

You could also just photocopy the reader, too (all should be available on special reserve from the relevant library). I don't think that that is the case for lab/prac manuals/books, though.

Wanna know what to do? Photocopy the book, then just get put them through a binding machine! How easy and cheap is that?
