Dear *****

A mistake was made by your tutor in _ _ _ ...last
semester. Your mark for the final assignment was not recorded. I have
only discovered this fact yesterday. For the final assignment your tutor
gave you a mark of 14 out of 30. When this mark is added to your other
marks, your final mark for the course is 69%, instead 55%.

I will alter the grade you have received for the course and you should
be notified by the student administration shortly about the change of
grade. I apologise for your tutor's oversight of your final assignment.
The teaching team in _ _ _ ...will work to make sure that this kind of
oversight doesn't happen again.

Best wishes for your studies,

**** *****

That doesn't happen often, but you hear about cases like that every now and then. Usually it happens after people have gone back to look at there exam and other results. As for needing a 2.5 GPA, talk to the lecturer in charge or someone important in the department who does waivers and talk to them about your situation.

Why would they suddenly go back to last semester results and look at the marks again? Unless someone applied and noted the marker of a possible mis-mark.

Definitely ask about it, the situation definitely sucks but it's great you got a better mark!

I wonder what happens if they fuck it up and give you a higher mark than you deserve...
