Its not based on subjects. It is based on credits (like units in the HSC).

A full time student is one that is doing 18-24 units (24 is the standard full time student). Anything less than 18 units is a part time student.

They might be doing 5 subjects but still only doing 24 units because 2 of their subjects might be 3uoc (units of credit) worth. Usually subjects are 6uoc, and there are 4 subjects = 24uoc per semester.

Anything more than 24uoc is overloading.

4 subjects is standard, but for software I have been doing 5 subjects per term for the last two terms.

A 3UOC subject > 1/2 6UOC subject, trust me ...

lol, maybe it's called 3 UOC but i see no difference in lecture time per week.

it really depends on what course u r learning.

e.g com, 15hr
eng, 30hr,

both 24UOC

There should be. The uoc is directly correlated to hpw.

Just need to be careful about comparing credits from different universities. Chances are they don't mean the same thing.

As I understand it, 6uoc in UOW represents about 3hpw (correct me if I'm wrong). At UNSW 6uoc is approximately 5-6hpw.

Your basing that off Sci/Eng subjects. Arts, Commerce and Law are less hpw ...
