Seems like it is easier to attain a band 5 in english this year? Does anyone agree?

well i got band 5 and i suck, so perhaps

yeh in 2004 u had to be in the top 2% of the state (i think) to attain a band 5 for standard english.

I got 75 and thats what I guessed I'd get

You know a mark of 75 in standard will get a higher aligned mark than the same one in Advanced. so you know you must do well in Advanced to reap the rewards, if you dont expect to get something 80+ you may as well drop to standard and get 77, you will end up doing better wrt UAI.

I studied for 6 months and got 86, so I dont think it was easy.

Plug it into SAM and see what a 70 in adv eng would do to your UAI. Standard English - it's a blessing in disguise.

Apparently not. The BoS stats are up and only 2.37% of the candidature got band 5 or above in Standard English.
