ok. im officially officially fucked now.
I got 10,025 for 1 a)
And for 1b) I got 972

How did you get the other answers?

For 1a:
S(3+22)+S(100)sq
= 25+10000
=10,025

1b:
S(25Xi+40XYi+16Yi)
=500+120+352
=972

Where am i going wrong.

Damn im stressed out :s

I won't attempt 2 and 3 yet, as im absolutely wrong for the others.

4:
a) How do we draw a histogram. Aren't the bin widths meant to be the same? If petrol is on the X axis, then it wouldn't work as the intervals are all diferent?

9:
...huh?

Hi forum krew,

Given time I will explain some worries away.

timeforpeople, if the bin widths for the histogram are not equal, you need to change your frequency count assuming random distribution so that the area is consistant with your bin width* count, look at the density diagrams tig was talking about before for more on this sort of thing.

hmm anyone wants to make some easy money tomorrow? I'd be willing to pay someone to go over the quiz with me.

Does that mean you have to adjust your class sizes? You cant just draw a histogram based on given information??
