why would they blatantly lie with their list of requirements? i'm sure that would deter the rest of the economics students. not to worry, i have a > than credit average anywayy

Beats me, maybe to give quantitative students a chance.

for pretty much all the government departments you need either honours/masters or a credit average +
Not true about honours/masters but probably true about credit aveage.

You won't find many graduate recruiters (not just for Econ but for any field) wanting you if you've gotten an average below a C.
