I went to the IPT one, and whilst I picked up a few things I wouldnt recommend going as I could of learned so much more by just staying at home and studying.

And anyway I dont see how they are meant to work!
They do 3 core chapters in 2 hours!

Wouldn't it be more useful going to one closer to the actual HSC and trials?
It isn't cheap and how are we supposed to study an entire course in a few hours?
If it is just revision of the topics/modules already covered in class it seems a little pointless to me.
I am going to study at home and spend the money on books instead (which are for the entire course).

I went to advanced english and Ext 1 maths.

English was alright - but of course didnt focus on my texts as each was different therefore very general but good to hear from a different teachers perspective therefore picked up a few tips

Ext 1 maths was ok - problem was some stuff covered i hadnt learnt yet and it wasnt a matter of teaching how to do this or that but more practicing problems - not bad.

I wouldnt bother with the textbooks - i bought one and never used it!!

it depends on which one and who you're questioning.. my one is the HSC Board endorsed course. Theres two courses of choice are give:
+Problem solving and communication in science (thats what i'm doing)
+Mind and Morality
these courses:
+count toward your HSC as 1 unit
+does not count towards your UAI
+counts as credit points to USYD

The other summer school is the ED Assist Lectures where they group you by subjects at school and give you notes/summaries of the entire HSC course. You pay about 75 for each course which generally runs over 2 days for each subject.

the PSCIS / Minda and morality. Um,, Yes mine does count towards HSC

Distinction courses will credit you in some way, i'm just not sure how much. i'm very sure that all unis recognise the distinction courses and will credit you
