hi Guys,
Doing an assignment on the electrolysis of salt water at different concentrations and need some help on what the different products for each concentration are, with equations. Also need to know what cause the universal indicator to bleach (with equations) and does this occur in all of the concentrations. The concentrations are 2.0M NaCl, 0.1M NaCl, and 0.001M NaCl.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

at lower concentrations your more likely to get H2 gas and O2 gas,
while at higher concentrations you will likely get H2 at the cathode and Cl2 gas at the anode

testing for:
H2:
can be technically tested for by conducting a pop test,
which you catch the H2 gas in a unside down test tube and use a match or flame to ignite it
(dont expect to actually get the pop from it thou, its hard to capture enough H2 to get a result)

Cl2:
When Cl2 gas is produces it will turn the water green, like a really disgusting green, and will produce a horrible smell
(adaptive thing to make us avoid this as highly toxic!!)
