not always true i think, id check with the unsw handbook.

some schools only offer a limited number of sci majors with the Beng...

for example i think chem and civil only allow a Bsc in computer science....elec eng you can do maths, statsistics, computer science, physics. (Thats the only majors they advertise, anyways)

with nanotechnology, i think its a specialised 4 year degree on its own...so it would take a longer time to get through.

If you wanna do nanotech, sounds like mechatronic might be more your thing.

nah that can't be true. you can combine heaps of science majors with chem and civil engineering. Imagine if you could only do computer science, lol.

Wouldnt it be a minor, though.

yea my bad...things have changed a little since i started, you can choose science any science major, provided you meet the credits it seems

stuff like maths and physics, or maybe chem might be easier to satsify cos you need cores from them for specific eng degrees.

I want to do a combined degree in engineering and advanced science at UNSW, but I was reading through the UNSW handbook and it seemed to imply that you could only combine advanced science with a B Arts or B Social Science (random!?!). Is this true? And if it is why on earth can't you combine them? I'd have thought that engineering and science complemented each other pretty well!

The only real difference for the adv sci (besides like 1-2 subjects) is the compulsory honours year, which you can do anyways with a BE/BSc, prpvided your marks are ok.
