i almost flipped when i saw the question on PCD. hope u guys at least knew what it meant after my question!!

anyone know anything about PCD (Pitched circle diameter)? Q16e 2009 HSC has something about it and in the answers i can't seem to understand what they did or if it has anything to do with the PCD:s
i have attached both the question and solution. If anybody can explain the part of the solution on the left, separated to the rest, it would awesome!!View attachment 28793View attachment 28794

The thing on the left is a section of the end of the antenna anchor rod, showing the small pin that runs through it. If I remember my engineering drawing correctly, the reason this has been done is that there's a hex nut over the threaded section of the rod, which excludes the rod from being hatched/sectioned in the main drawing.
