For the Area of study essay question, will they ever ask for more than one related material?

technically yes, but I have my doubts, the trend seems towards ONE related or at least one. I'd say do your practice essays with one, but have a second one ready in case you need to use it!

I've been looking at past eng papers and they've only asked for two related materials in 2008, for their focus of physical journeys. Hopefully they stick to one =]

Almost certain that it would be one, but just to be on the safe side - prepare 2

They might actually ask for 2 this year. My thoughts are so negative about this year's HSC. However, I'd rather prepare for the worst than cry afterwards.

Prepare for two, as always. But be adaptable. If it asks for one, do one.
