I hit 698 in 4 minutes.

But it all varies on the speaker. I slow my voice down when I speak, I usually speak really quickly in conversations but I'm chill in speeches lol

I get about 160-190 words per minute during the actual speech depending upon how much I need to cram in so 720-850 words in 4:30 minutes I guess. But it does depend upon how fast you speak.

I place slightly more emphasis upon presentation rather than content. If there's a slightly tangential idea that would force me to go over I would delete it in favour of better speech delivery.

No use going like a steam train and sounding unintelligible despite putting in great analysis, I'd rather put in slightly less analysis for a better delivery of speech.

Learn to vary your tone of voice while talking, I try and model mine off newsreaders.

I believe you should actually time yourself to give a better estimate.

I'd say 150 words per minute after practice.

Note that nervousness may enable you to speak more quickly.

This. Nothing beats timing it out for yourself.
