i got assesment task for englih 2/9/09..The task is: you will listen to a short story that you will be read twice. You will then respond to a number of set questions.

you will be asses on how well you:

+ Identify aspects of the structue of the text.

+ Listen actively to the text and recall details.

By the way my English teacher has no idea what story it is on, how many words or how many questions. Only the head teacher is going to know. How could i practice for this, what questions would most likely be in the task? Thank you in advanced

ye, she can only read the short story twice and no more. So while she reads it we take notes so its easier for us to answer the questions/

You don't need to ask BoS everything...

Perhaps try to improve your memory ?

Also, maybe try not writing notes the first time she reads it, wait until she finishes reading it. This is as you may ignore/not hear what she's saying, as your focused on writing the notes.

In regards to the questions, usually they are only short answer. Make sure you read the question properly though. Quite a few people lost marks for simply not entirely answering the question.

A good way is to complete focus and immerse yourself in the story the first time round so as to gain a general idea of what the story is about. You need to FEEL it! (lol) Take notes the second time when you fully know what the story is about. Taking notes during the first reading can make it confusing sometimes.
