enzyme - pH, temp, Conc... (1 Viewer)

Hi, is it possible for someone to post up their written pracs on the three exps regarding enzyme activity (pH/temp/conc). our class only did the pH one and i wanted to have a look at the other two incase one is easier or has more to write about and so on. it would be much appreciated even if its an info sheet or anything.

The temperature prac is essentially the same as the pH prac. A optimum level (of pH or temperature) for maximum enzyme activity, any deviations result in reduced activity rate, any larger deviations result in no activity at all because it will denature the enzymes. So, it will be a bell-shaped graph (enzyme activity on verticle axis, temperature/pH on horizontal).

For the concentration prac, the enzyme activity rate would increase if the substrate concentration increases. However, as the substrate becomes more concentrated, the rate would be diminishing in increasing, up to a point where any further increases will not bring about rate increases. This is the 'saturation point'. The graph will look like smooth "r" graph.
