Do any of you know good programs for writing equations (as for a test) into a word processor (as Word)?

If you're willing to learn, theres not much better than latex

Openoffice has a Maths segment of the package, however you cannot overlook Latex.

The one I have is MathType 5.2, it's very easy to use, has a range of symbols and signs.

Word, Equation Editor, MathType, etc., i.e., anything which is a suck-up to Bill Gates, is for amateurs.

If you want to be more professional, you'd send all your Microsoft stuff to the trash, and start using LaTeX, and other things Bill Gates doesn't control.

Bill Gates is a champion of mediocrity. Don't follow his example.

I am an amateur, I just finished HSC, you don't need very complex equations, symbols and Math Type would suffice.

Although, where do you get LaTeX?

definitely use LaTeX.. it's much more efficient, unless you're after only a few lines of equation.

"Kile" which comes with KDE is the best I've seen, but that's only for Unix/Linux systems. miktex is the most popular windows one
