The concentration of Sulfur Dioxide in a gas stream is analysed by passing the gas through NaOH solution.
(Question continues... calculating moles blah blah)
I cant seem to get the equation to start the question

SO2 + NaOH -> H20 +Na2S

thats what i think it is... its a neutrilisation react as its acidic oxide + base but with the equation at top. i cant seem to balance it.... (thats if its the right equation for the reaction :S)

Without states:
2NaOH + SiO2 ----> Na2SiO3 + H2O

???

SO2 + 2NaOH ----> Na2SO3 + H2O
