how long would a Substantial essay be for advance english ...well an assesment weighing 10%?

Depends on what its topic is. I'd probably say 2 at the least, and 5 for the maximum if you;re under exam conditions.

I usually walk in with a generic prepared essay, just need to tie in with question. In such a case, i'll say about 5-6 pages (50 minutes), or 4-5 pages (40-45 minutes)

it depends whether its a test or a hand-in assessment.
I'd go for 3 typed pages if it were hand-in, if its a test I'd go for about 5-6 written pages.

lol woah i can't write or think that fast. =/ Max pages I'd be able to do would be like 4 or 5 depending on topic - ie. exam conditions.

yeh, I never write enough in exams. last exam i was so proud coz I got to 4 pages and I got out and everyone else had written like 6-8 pages.
I always stick with the excuse that I have small handwriting.
