What do you guys reckon?

Personally, i think it is a fantastic idea.

Whatever is better for the environment gets a big fat green tick in my book.

I just think you need to be aware of how much land will need to be cleared to accommodate the expansive plantations required to meet the demand. This may be even more damaging to the environment.

Well it's already been used in countries as an extension to car fuels (up to 15% ethanol), but any higher concentrations of ethanol in fuel will require modifications of vehicle engines, which is quite costly.
