What's so wrong with it anyway?
I can understand the opposition to racial eugenics, cos that's just blatantly wrong and unfounded.
But why not intellectual eugenics?
It'd make the world a better place. Nerds don't pick fights.
Of course, i'm not advocating a Final Solution for stupid people, but couldn't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself?
Or at the very least get rid of the goddamn baby bonus. The only people whose decision would be influenced by it are not the kind of people we generally want to be multiplying.

Nah bro, just let natural selection determine whats better for us.

although stuff like genetic engineering would be ok i guess.

Population control may one day be inevitable, unless off course we start colonizing outer space.

Yeah, that's my problem. With current trends, we'd end up a society of morons. Really don't want to leave that kind of legacy.
My vote: charge people to have kids. That way, only the rich could afford it, and generally the rich are smart.
OH! And we need slogans!
How about: "Give evolution a helping hand!" or "Thinking of reproducing, dummy? Well, it'll cost ya!"

Speaking of elitist...

Its fuckin unethical. Thats why.
It's just intellectual discrimination.
It'd be no different to the racial, gender, religion and age discrimination which permeate our society today.
And in the long run, it would serve a better purpose than any of the other forms of discrimination.

Something being "less unethical" than another thing does not make it ethical. <_<

There's an idea.
But i think that's even more undemocratic than the reverse baby bonus.
Yours involves force and physical retribution.
Mine involves using finance (or the lack thereof) to prevent it.

True.
But if society can put up with something even more unethical, then surely it could put up with my idea?

Well that'd just be bad luck.
Not much we can do there.

Financially, in terms of the burden on our health system, our carers system, the money given to carers and the facilities.. Its quite good.

Morally, its intolerable.
Every life thats being lived is valuable. Some of the most beautiful people I've ever met have been intellectually handicapped. They make me smile, make me realise beauty.

I second that. We had a discussion about this in legal studies, and while I'd love to get rid of those who are stupid beyond comprehension, its just plain unethical.
