EXCEL help (1 Viewer)

I've got a massive excel file that obtains data from other files. however when i want to put new stuff in and press enter... takes at least a minute for it to refresh everything...

is there a way to stop auto refresh... and only refresh when i manually refresh?

I'm not sure that what your asking is possible is these other files contained on your computer or running off a server that might speed it up if it is not located locally but I assume it is.

It would depend how your data is structured and what formats are used as to how excel refreshing but normally when new data is enter that efforts other data it will refresh.

Open Excel. Then go Tools -> Options -> Calculation -> Uncheck "Update remote references". That should do it (Excel 2003, should work for other Excel versions too).
