Just wondering if going on exchange for about two months in year 11 is to risky, in terms of missing out on work etc???
has anyone gone in year 11 before??
thanks,

i personally wouldnt but then again each to their own.
This

Plus, there's some type of thing that you have to spend a certain time on each course, like certain attendance, so if you miss out on 2 months, thats like 2/3 of a term... and you only have 3 terms in year 11

yeah
i was planning on going to either argentina or spain in year 11 (this year)
but after talking to teachers, they said thered be no chance of me going without having to repeat
if you really want to do an exchange program, do it during your gap year or something, most, if not all, exchange programs offer it

i really wanted to go to france... but with my school it was $7000+ for three weeks when you can go for 3mths through those exchange organisations.

there doesn't seem to be any that's around a month. they're all at least two months, which means no france for me until end of yr12... :(

I'm definitely going to Spain after yr 12, for holidays. I miss it too much!
Exchange programs in year 11 are too risky, I think. Better to do it during Gap year, although I wouldn't trust myself to be able to go back to school after the year.. I dont know. Maybe it will work for you.
If you are looking at Uni, going after year 12 leaves you about 2 months gap? As long as you keep up with applications online and remain organised.
That's the way I'm doing it.
Hope it helps :)

Yeah. Life in Europe is so much more expensive.. I'm thinking I'll need about 10 grand incl. airfare.. although my mum's freaking out because it's not very safe. This is for a month's stay, mind you.
Then again, World Youth Day is the year after... but I don't thnk I can cut through Uni.. unless I get ridiculous amounts of holidays like my friend does, but it's a different course than the one I want to do.

Exchange is probably best in year nine but I was too scared to travel by myself back then, plus the catching up on work is too much.

How come France or Spain are the chosen destinations?

Aww yeah, well, you still have some time. If you have a job in particular, you can probably make it working a few hrs p/w .. That's what Ive been doing for a year now and I'm half way there. I just dont trust myself to take a year off, although from so much study I might very well explode LOL

Are you in Sydney?
