I was watching a doco yesterday, and wondering whether or not I should change it to:

Traditional socialism: Dead or Alive?
That documentary would be Heaven on Earth, yeah? The one the ABC plays occasionally?

I think it could be quite a good topic, although you'd probably need to alter it to make it more historical in focus. Maybe the causes of the decline in traditional socialism that we saw in the second half of the twentieth century?

:uhhuh:

But I'm still sticking with my original focus question. But that doco was real good.

Try to get feedback from your teacher. As for me, I think it could be quite general and can be better worded.
I got feedback from my teacher, and we have shaped the question into:

Investigate the role of the 'conspiracy theory' in shaping the public opinion of the United States in regards to the 1947 Roswell Incident and its aftermath

Though, only a very minor part of WW2 would be in the MH syllabus though. I guess it's that big.

Predominantly concentrate socialism in Britain, Australia and to a lesser extent, the influences of communism in the USSR and China. But I'm still sticking with my original topic :)

The post-modernism and relativism/absolutism arguments in "What is History?" is fascinating.

What do you guys think about Harold Holt for my major work?

Either:

Did Harold Holt commit suicide?
Did his political and private life lead to suicidal tendencies?

Something like that?

Thanks.

Kelli.

LOL. Yeah, we were reading the Elton vs Carr interview and I lovvvvvve the insults. "Mr Carr is veering towards dangerous relativism" and "Unfortunately, Mr Elton allows his idealism to cloud reality."

Mates and I had a great deal of lol when reading it.

i ALREADY FOUND MY TOPIC !!!! weeeeeee ( twirls around like some tipsy person)

i narrowed it down to two :

EITHER........................

Black Death

Joan of Arc..

my anc. hist teacher adviced me to do ancient(derr..) something to do with agrippina or emperor caligula..
my ext. hist teacher told me to do modern ( since he's a fan of ww2)

but in the end...i chose medieval..

what do you guys think about the Black deat?.i was hoping of doing a question that deals about the feudal society and black death..but i'm still murky..
hope you guys can help!

(blushes madly) ooh thank you...Dont worry, just tell them about it. I'm sure it would get them hooked. I learned about black death while i was browsing through my old encyclopaedias when i was 10. the page stood out from the rest because they placed a caricature of a black skeleton and a screaming title BLACK DEATH printed in gothic font.,,so yeah :)

You're allowed to do stuff that's covered in the MH syllabus as long as you're not actually going to study it at preliminary or HSC level
Sorry if someone has already corrected this, but: an Ext Hist student cannot choose a project topic which overlaps ANY of the content in Mod or Anc syllabuses even if their school isn't doing that module; e.g. I desired to do something in the Mod Hist syllabus Option A National Study, but despite the fact we are studying Option C in National Study I can't do it at all. So irritating...

For our Case Study we are doing JFK's presidency and Kujah i am so jealous that your class only has 3 people; mine has 25!

2 :) Yeah, it means that our teacher gets to spend more time individually with both of us with the MW and modules. But it does get quiet sometimes :)
