Suppose that p is the probability that event A occurs and q is the probability event A does not occur. Prove that:
Wouldn't it be beyond the syllabus considering it uses generating functions?

You have n different colour paints (an unlimited amount of each paint), and m objects. You wish to paint each object with a certain colour. In how many ways can this be done if each object is:

a)distinct (ie. number of permutations)
b)not distinct (ie. number of combinations)
