Hi, I am studying actuary at MQ (first year) and I am about to complete one semester (4 units). After this I want to transfer to UNSW and do Data Science. I did some research and found that if I have studied below 0.75 FTEs (which is 6 units at MQ), then only my ATAR will be considered for admission. My ATAR is much higher than the requirement for Data Science so I am not worried about that.

However, what will happen to my results for the 4 units that I have studied at MQ? I'm pretty sure external transfers will reset my GPA/WAM so what will happen to my semester 1 GPA at MQ? Will it just disappear into thin air and be meaningless?

Thank you

I would have a look into seeing if you can use any of your subjects to be credited as "electives". You will still have access to your results/transcript from Macquarie but it is unlikely to be needed for future graduate jobs or other university activities. However, I would suggest studying hard just in case you decide you don't actually like data science.
