Vivendi have announced F.E.A.R. Combat - a new FREE online multiplayer game:

F.E.A.R. Combat is the complete multiplayer component of F.E.A.R. and includes all the updates, additional official maps and additional official game modes all in one downloadable file. F.E.A.R. Combat users will be able to play against the owners of the retail version of F.E.A.R. as well as the other F.E.A.R. Combat users.

F.E.A.R. Combat features:
• 10 Multiplayer Game modes.
• 19 Multiplayer Maps.
• 12 different weapons.
• Punkbuster support for anti cheat support.
• The capability to download user generated content.

For those intending on grabbing this, emphasis on the fact that it's around 1.8gb, you should make sure you're up for that before you get started. That said, it's a huge amount of fun, had a blast playing it so far

good raging potential too ... why do they release a free multiplayer version of a singleplayer game that costs monies ? better than world of warcraft though ..

It's like what they did with Wolfenstein and Wolf: Enemy Territory.

I like to hog the HP Booster, get like 4 of them then run around with (potentially) 300HP. Each one gives you 50 health.

When your health goes below 25, you can gain back your health to 25 with time. Good feature, you don't want to be alive with less than 25 HP anyways.
