I think the way it works is get owned in first year, learn hard lesson, become successful uni student from then on.

Who agrees?

First year- Credit average, passed everything.

Second year- only passed 2/8 subjects.

Good luck next year :)

I have never failed an entire subject. The closest I have come is 55%.

I have failed tutorial exercises on a few occasions... but the only major assessment I have ever failed was some kind of report which I got 0 in because I accidentally submitted a report for a different subject.

umm, is there any difference between fail or absent fail? like, my friend is going to transfer to a different course in different uni and half way (well like in week 11) through one of her current course 'unit', right before a massive exam, she didnt attend the exam because she knows that shes going to fail anyway.

and she further said that absent fail is measured (valued?) higher or something. maybe she meant it sounds better because other uni will think that absent fail = didnt try because of illness, personal reason etc etc.

so anyway, i was wondering if there are any minor difference between fail and absent fail. (i know they get 0gpa in the end)

thanks

Thats not true that you can't transfer into another course, ever

My friend failed 2nd year anatomy as part of her B. medical science.

Then at the end of the year, she didn't even complete one of her courses so I assume she failed that too (didn't turn up to the pharmacy finals since she knew she got a place else where)

She's now doing Pharmacy (undergad) at USYD. I was worried that if they knew she just flunked pharm by not turning up to the finals, that they'd reject her spot- but they didn't.

Fail hurts, I admit.

I really wish i had just been a good student now

I wish i had done my work

I wish i had done it how they wanted me to

F = no scholarship... ever
F = public humiliation "ha ha.. look shes stupid!"
F = ego hurt ego hurt ego hurt !!!
F = no more being able to say "yeah i can pass anything, any time.. easy"
F = no transfer to another course or another uni if i get the urge
F = permenantly on record.. Forever...
F = No longer being overly opinionated in tutorials and shooting people down over anything.. cus well i got an F, they all beat me! How could i possibly justify ever voicing my opinion on anything again!

theres no escape from that damn F

Its not liberating
Its not cool
Its not satisfying in any respect

I got a "See me if special consideration is required" down the bottom of my sheet
Cus my grandma died
Its not an excuse... not a REAL excuse...
But now im thinking of seeing if the "circumstances" can push me up to a pass minus atleast.

Cus i dont want to be a lousy F student

Forget the fact im going fine in the rest of my subjects, more than fine even.

That one fail has taken the joy out of every other decent mark ive recieved.
