I am really disappointed because I failed in total 3 subjects this year! I'm currently doing 1st Year Commerce and I got 98.7 for my UAI but I don't know what happened to my motivation ): I was wondering whether this will severely disadvantage me in the work force - I'm so worried I'll never get a job or something!

Do you know whether if I tried harder and improved next year, my first year results would still hinder my job opportunities and my overall average?

Or when we apply for jobs, do we only have to list the subjects that are relevant in to our job (say, Accounting major for example) or do we have to show them our official transcript? I'm extremely stressed arghhh this has put a damper on my holidays ):

I wouldnt stress so much, heaps of people fail subjects, its not such a rare thing, like in high school. Just remember that you are competing against students who have already achieved a high level in getting good UAI's, and being the bottom of a bunch of really smart people isnt so bad.
Do you have to repeat the subjects? if you do, then i dont think the fails will show on your transcript, i'm not sure though, you'd need to ask the uni. I know that only 4 years of work show on your transcript, so if you do a 5 year course, no one sees your first year results.
Dont ruin your holidays by stressing about it, you've got at least 3 years of uni to go to make up for it! :)

thats what i was told, maybe my information is wrong, but seriously, as if employers care how you did at uni 5 years ago, they want to know how you did in your final years, when u are learning the important, relevant stuff.

They would show your entire degree... I can't see why they would ignore a year.

Theyd have to have some way of allowing you to make it up so that it wouldnt show on your transcript, otherwise hundreds of people would be in the same situation as you.
