Just a question...
I'm not exactly sure of my assesment mark because my school doesn't tell us, but I passed the half yearly exam(43/64, not sure of percentage somewhere in the 60's im guessing), and the 2 assesments, 1 a project the other a database and some other theory work and would average around 75% combined.

Than I failed the trials getting 40% and since I haven't done anything at all since trials, and most likely will get something similar in the HSC, I was wondering what kind of mark I would be getting? Anyone have any idea? I'm pretty sure my raw mark is still in the 65-70 range... How's the scaling go for this subject?

Scaling is bad. Aligning is decent. You need roughly 80 to get 90 aligned.

is all you need mid 80s to get band 6? that seems easy enough (aligning)

There has been data showing that a 59 Raw aligns to 79, it's in one of the raw mark threads...

It still scales up, but only slightly. Its not a 'bad' scale as such, but for whats in the course, its shit scaling.
fuck i always say this. The scaling is bad. Compare it to any other decent course, and this will scale worse.

79 would scale to the shit.

I reckon 80 raw would be band 6 easy. For the past 2 years our school has had placings in sdd, so i reckon we should get at least 3+ band 6's, and our top mark in the trial was 70 something. (although my class isnt as good as previous yrs).

You can get 95, just keep trying.

there is 5 marks between 1st (85) and me 6th (80), then after 6th the next mark down is 62, so i think my teacher was right with tight marks then a slump, she thinks all 6 of us can get band 6, but the other guys arent really willing to share study, they keep to themselves (ie. unsocial) except 1-2 ... in 2003 my teacher said 3 students got 94, does that mean their actual raw mark would of only been high 80s?
