Anyone know of any failure rates for various subjects? Esp accg253, I've read like 2 chapters of the textbook and already don't understand wtf it's on about... meaning I'm already afraid of failing. Is there somewhere where I can find out failure rates for certain subjects?

Yes, get flyin's distribution file.

Failure rates vary from subject to subject. Ask your lecturer but they aren't obligated to release such information.

Question: does the failure rate matter?

flyin''s distribution program doesn't consider failure rates, just "typical" numbers for HD, D and Cr grades.

But you can generally work backwards and see the failure rates from that, unless it's very high in one particular subject?

You can't work backwards, because they don't fix failure rates. In fact, if the lecturer fails more than 20% they have to explain why. (With that said, they don't fix the higher grades that much, unless you do humanities ;))

So true, I thought, why are they going on about this in the first (introduction) chapter?? I didn't understand that model at all :(

Er, but your program shows the amount of HDs, Ds, Crs, Ps, etc that can be expected.... ?

I seem to be lost in the mathematics of it all, if I am, just say so and I'll except what you say and nod :p

My program only shows HDs, Ds and CRs. Nothing about Ps, PCs and Fs.
